Someone you care about just told you she might be pregnant. How can you help?

How Can You Support Her?
Listen first. Your first reaction may be to give advice or tell her what you think she should do. Give her space to talk and ask what she needs from you.
Be there for her. If she wants support while talking with the baby’s father, her parents or someone else she trusts, offer to be there.
Help her find accurate information. If she has questions about pregnancy or her options, encourage her to get the information she needs. You can also offer to come with her to an appointment.
Don't...
Don’t pressure her. You may know what you would do in her situation, but this is her decision. Give her room to ask questions and consider her options.
Don’t judge her. She may already be experiencing a lot of emotions. Let her know she can talk with you honestly.
Don’t disappear. Continue checking in and remind her that she has someone she can talk to.
